About Esprit de Corps Masters
Formed in 2000 to compete in the US Figure Skating Masters Division, Esprit de Corps Masters (EDCM) has accumulated
a rich competitive history to complement that of its sister team, EDC Adult. Since the team's formation, EDC Masters
has won four National titles and five Sectional titles as well as earning numerous other medals.
Skaters on Esprit de Corps Masters are dedicated to their sport and dedicated to achieving their
best competitive results through training and teamwork. The team actively encourages a positive attitude,
a supportive team environment, a strong work ethic and an attention to detail. With the leadership and
vision of coach and skater, Dede Wilson, EDCM continues its legacy of excellence, grace and beauty.
Teams competing in the Masters Division have between 12 and 20 skaters. Skaters must be at least
25 years old to participate and the average age of the team must be at least 35. There is no mandatory
test level for the Masters division but EDCM skaters are accomplished in the disciplines of Moves in
the Field and compulsory figures, Ice Dance and Free Style with many of the skaters continuing to improve
their skill levels and test.
EDCM takes the ice this season in their “little black dress” to skate to a “Girls Night Out” musical medley.
Highlights of the program this season include a traveling circle within a circle, impressive and powerful
regressing lines, an exciting splice intersection and block footwork ending with all 20 skaters doing
synchronized back lunges. The competitive season began with an exhibition at the Cape Cod Classic and included
a silver medal skate at the Colonial Classic and a bronze medal skate at the 2009
Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships. The team had an exciting finish to the season beginning
with the HSST Nationals Sendoff Exhibition on March 1, 2009 followed by a 4th place finish at Nationals in Portland, ME.
