The Ice Mates are the 2006 U.S. National Silver Medalists competing in the Novice Division. The Novice Division, with a maximum age of 15, is one of three elite levels in competitive figure skating. The Ice Mates are the most successful Novice division team in the history of U.S Synchronized skating. As the U.S. Novice Division's Silver Medalists they have the opportunity to represent the U.S. in international competitions. In 2003 and 2004 they represented the United States and competed in France where they captured The French Cup and in 2000 they combined with the other U.S. contingent teams to win The Nations Cup for the top overall finish in the competition. The Ice Mates are recognized both nationally and internationally for their team athleticism, innovative choreography, speed, and exceptional style and grace.

The Ice Mates are the developmental team for the Haydenettes and are coached by Saga Krantz, the internationally recognized coach and choreographer. These skater-athletes ages range from 12 to 15 and they dedicate their time to practicing this team sport as well as developing strong individual skills in preparation for team competition.
