The Ice Mates are the reigning 2009 U.S. Silver Medalists at the Novice level. The Ice Mates have an impressive list of accomplishments, including more than 16 U.S. Titles and 75 gold medals in local, national and international competitions, making them the most successful Novice team in the history of U.S. synchronized skating.

The Ice Mates have been named part of Team USA, U.S. Figure Skating’s contingent of skaters and teams that represent the U.S. in international competitions. During March 2007 and March 2008, the Ice Mates traveled to Göteburg Sweden to participate in the Novice only Leon Lurje Trophy competition. In a highly competitive field, the Ice Mates led the U.S. delegation of teams, placing the highest of the U.S. teams. In past years, the Ice Mates represented the U.S. in France where they captured The French Cup. The Ice Mates have been part of the U.S. contingent that combined to win The Nations Cup for the top overall finish of all countries in the competition. The Ice Mates are recognized both nationally and internationally for their team athleticism, innovative choreography, speed, as well as their exceptional style and grace.

The Ice Mates are coached by Saga Krantz, the internationally recognized coach and choreographer. Ms. Krantz is assisted by Dede Wilson and Erika Hoffman, two coaches with impressive skating and coaching achievements of their own. The Ice Mates skater-athletes range in age from 11 to 15 and they dedicate their time to practicing this team sport as well as developing strong individual skills in preparation for team competition.
