The Haydenettes are U.S. Figure Skating’s 2009 Silver Medalists in Synchronized Team Skating. By virtue of their seventeen U.S. National titles and ten World Championship competitions, the Haydenettes are the most successful U.S. Synchronized skating team in the 50+ year history of the sport.

The Haydenettes are recognized in figure skating for their team athleticism, technically complex footwork, innovative choreography and their team speed. Led by head coach Saga Krantz, a former World Championship Silver Medalist, the team and coaches continue to aim for the World Medal podium. Recruited by Hayden from Finland, Coach Saga Krantz previously coached with the Rockettes of Helsinki, Finland, winners of multiple World Medals and a World Championship. The Haydenettes 2009-2010 team is comprised of high school and college age skater-athletes ranging in age from fifteen to twenty-six.

Synchronized Skating is the fourth figure skating discipline sponsored by U.S. Figure Skating (USFS). 'Synchro' as the sport is known, is attracting new fans and fast growth both internationally and in the U.S. In the U.S. alone there are now more than 500 competitive teams and more than 5,000 skaters participating in the sport. U. S. Figure Skating has identified Synchro as the fastest growing part of competitive figure skating. In Europe and Canada, Synchro is already a popular spectator sport.

The Haydenettes have represented the U.S. in every World Championship since the International Skating Union (ISU) sanctioned the first World Championship event during 2000. The Haydenettes have an impressive list of international achievements including earning the Bronze Medal at the 2008 World Championships in the free skate event. Other awards include the Bronze medal in the 2005 Prague Cup and the Silver medal in the 2004 Neuchatel Trophy in Switzerland. During 2003, the Haydenettes led a contingent of three teams to France where they won The French Cup for the U.S. In addition, the United States contingent won The Nations Cup, awarded to the highest scoring country in this competition.

The Haydenettes are sought after for team personal appearances, ice skating shows, exhibitions and corporate events. The team has appeared on NBC’s TODAY show live from Rockefeller Centre, The Holiday Tree Lighting at The Pond at Bryant Park, televised by CBS-TV, appearances in ice shows telecast by ESPN and featured on ESPN’s E:60, LifeTime TV, and COMCAST’S CN8 to name recent appearances.

The excitement, thrills and complexity of Synchronized skating leads many to believe that “Synchro” is on its way to become the next “Big Thing” in competitive figure skating. The future looks bright with solid growth in the collegiate ranks and many eyes are focused on the Olympics as the next achievement for the sport and for the Haydenettes.
