HAYDENETTES
SKATE IN EVENING OF CHAMPIONS SYNCHRONIZED Haydenettes
Appear in 37th Annual Harvard Fund-raising Exhibition
Lexington,
Mass.― October 9, 2006―The Haydenettes, fifteen-time U.S.
Synchronized Champions and the 2006 U.S. Silver medalists, skated on
October 6 and 7, 2006 with a stellar cast of skaters in Harvard
University's 37th annual Evening of Champions
The Haydenettes skated
on Friday and Saturday nights along with host Paul Wylie and other
top Olympic, National and World skaters that including 2006 Olympic
Silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto, 2 times Olympic
champions the Protopopovs and 2006 Olympians Emily Hughes and Matt
Savoie. The Haydenettes, perennial World competitors, most recently
represented the U.S. in the 2006 World Championships in Prague,
Czech Republic.
"I was delighted to
see The Haydenettes show their speed, power and presentation in this
first public viewing of their new 2006-2007 short program. And like
Paul Wylie, we also envision this year as presenting new
opportunities to medal at Worlds," said Saga Krantz, head coach and
choreographer of the Haydenettes. "This important community event
draws an in-the-know skating enthusiast audience so it was good to
see how warmly the Haydenettes skating was received. It was also great to have
that audience include members of other Hayden Synchronized Skating
Teams, the Lexettes and Ice Mates, as well."
The Evening of
Champions, produced by students of Harvard's Eliot House, donates
all the proceeds of this annual event to benefit The Jimmy Fund
which funds research leading to treatments for children's cancer.
The Haydenettes have been proud to participate for many
years.
The
Haydenettes have represented the U.S. in every World Championship
since the International Skating Union (ISU) sanctioned the sport as
a World Championship event in 2000. By virtue of their
fifteen U.S. National titles, the Haydenettes are the most
successful U.S. Synchronized skating team in the 50+ year history of
the sport.
