The Mini Mates are Hayden's representative in U.S. Figure Skating's Juvenile Division. The team is made up of skaters between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age. They are a group of skater-athletes from many communities who come together to fulfill their dreams to have fun skating, participate in a team sport and enjoy showing their accomplishment in team competitions. They dedicate their time to practicing this team sport as well as developing strong individual skills in preparation for team competition.

Synchronized Skating is the fourth figure skating discipline sponsored by U.S. Figure Skating (USFS). "Synchro" as the sport is known, is attracting new fans and fast growth both internationally and in the U.S. In the U.S. alone there are now more than 500 teams and 5,000 individual skaters on competitive teams. U. S. Figure Skating has identified synchro as the fastest growing part of competitive figure skating. In Europe and Canada, synchro is already a popular spectator sport. The growth and popularity of the sport was underscored when the Haydenettes were awarded the Michelle Kwan Trophy by SKATING magazine as the most popular skaters in the magazine's annual readers' poll, a first for a Synchronized team.
